St. Lawrence County Self Insurance Plan is the workers' compensation group plan for injured workers benefits administration, providing coverage benefits pursuant to the New York State Workers' Compensation Law, Volunteer Firefighter Benefits Law and the Volunteer Ambulance Workers Law for the entities participating in the municipal Self Insurance Plan.
We work together with our Third Party Administrator, Eagle Claim Services to provide for the payment of medical claims, wage loss, and awards in a timely manner; referral of injured workers to rehabilitation specialists; advising workers of their rights under the Workers' Compensation Law; assistance with loss control and risk management and preparation of each participant's yearly appropriation. The County Attorney, Deputy County Attorney, or their designee provides legal representation for the County at all Workers' Compensation hearings.
